Date: September 12, 2023 This is the fifth annual golf tournament by the Kiwanis Club of Cape May to raise funds in support of the children of Greater Cape May. The Club provides scholarships to graduating seniors from local high schools as well as supports youth Kiwanis clubs at all levels of education locally from elementary schools to Technical Schools to Community Colleges. Your participation in this tournament will make a difference for our children. It will be a Scramble format with Shotgun Start at 1PM. In each foursome everyone will have to have at least two tee shots used. There will also be the opportunity to buy Mulligans at $10 each in order to enhance your team score. In addition to the main competition, there will be a closest to the pin contest at each par 3 and a prize for the “closest to the line” drive at the seventh hole.
Shore Club History: The Shore Club was established in 1916, when a group of players developed a nine-hole golf course and is on a trajectory to be one of the premier private clubs in South Jersey. By 1921, in a Wayne Stiles design, the full 18 holes were developed. It is a bayside layout with challenging greens and hole locations. During Arnold Palmer’s service in the Coast Guard, the course was his favorite. Over the last several years, significant improvements were made to the course, including rebuilding of many bunkers, replacing the irrigation system, modifying the seventh green, and remodeling clubhouse, the Pub and banquet facilities. Great golf, warm and welcoming staff, and a shore breeze. Lunch: Before or after warming up enjoy lunch on your own at The Shore Club.
